Eczema
Eczema is a very often seen skin problem. It not only happens to children, it also happens to adults. Eczema is a skin condition where the skin is red and sometimes itchy. As mentioned before, any skin issue is rarely just a skin disorder. It’s the combination of internal stagnated heat with moisture. And it involves the liver and gallbladder as well as the stomach/spleen system. Moxibustion can help to get rid of the moisture and strengthen the spleen function. When the moisture is gone, the heat will automatically circulate around your body. But it normally needs time. Clinically, I used herbal tea together with moxibustion for a faster and better result.
In addition to moxibustion, it’s better to ask kids to change their diets and sleeping habits, such as sleeping earlier, and not eating too cold, too spicy or too greasy food. Similar rules apply to adults as well. This habit change is sometimes more important for a complete cure of eczema.
In my class, I tell the parents to follow these steps:
Step 1: Pinch the two sides of the spine, from the tip of the sacrum to the top of the neck, seven times. This is to help the qi and heat move down along the back.
Step 2: Do moxibustion on these points: GV14 Da Zhui; BL13 Feishu; (CV8) Shen Que (belly button); ST36 Zusanli.
Step 3: If eczema is only on the top of your body, then do moxibustion on LI4 Hegu and LI11 Quchi. If on the lower part, below the belly button, then do moxibustion on SP6 San Yin Jiao and SP10 Xue Hai.
This is one story shared by a moxibustion fan.
- She did the moxibustion for her young child who suffered from eczema. For the first 30 days she didn’t notice much change and she almost thought of giving up, but she eventually decided to continue. By the 40th day she noticed a big difference. Now her child is fully recovered. She is very happy.
For the results to be faster, I normally suggest that they take some herbal tea. For more of such information sharing, you can follow me on the Facebook page: facebook.com/Holistic Queen.
- I have a follower, a young Chinese girl who just followed the general instruction and did the moxibustion by herself; and one day she sent a message to my client support team that her eczema is gone. I am not exactly sure how long it took her.
The general guideline is to circulate the heat, get rid of dampness and strengthen spleen function.
