Moxibustion For Catching Cold and Nose Congestion and Coughing

Young kids normally pay less attention to environmental changes. Also, because of their general vulnerable body characteristics, they tend to catch cold easily. If your child catches a cold, has a fever, is sneezing with sputum, or coughing with whitish mucus and having nose congestion or a runny nose, you can follow these steps.

Step1: Pinch the lower edge of the back skull and also along the neck; then do some pushing/Tui Na from neck to sacrum area, along the two sides of the spine. This will help circulate and reduce the heat.

Step 2: Do moxibustion at GV 14 Da Zhui, BL12 Fengmen and BL13 Feishu acupuncture points. At the same time, do moxibustion at (CV8) Shen Que or belly button. If it’s not convenient to do moxibustion at the same time, you can do the back first and then do the front. Or put a warm heating pad on the belly.

I have taught so many parents to do this at home for their kids, and the effect is almost immediate.

A few days ago, one person from our client support group asked me a question. Her granddaughter had caught a cold. She is only 3 years old. She had a fever of 38.5 degrees and a slight cough with white mucus, as well as a stuffy nose and a bit of difficulty breathing. She asked me what to do. I basically taught her the above method using voice recording. She immediately told her daughter to do the acupressure and warm her belly. The second day, she sent me a message to thank me, and wants to learn from me when I open another class.

To be honest, these are very easy treatments with moxibustion. A lot of parents also kept doing moxibustion to boost the immune system for their kids. And now they don’t need to take their kids to the hospital, and their kids seldom get sick after having moxibustion.

Next time, when your child catches a cold, just try moxibustion. You will be amazed by the result. More importantly, the child is very comfortable during moxibustion; there is no pain at all. You can just follow the steps I mentioned before. If you are not sure, you can ask for my personal coaching by sending an email to ClickTCM@gmail.com.
