Moxibustion is a very good way to treat health problems in kids. Your pediatrician might tell you what happened, but often he or she won’t know the real reason behind the problems. Please don’t get me wrong. They are very professional, and I respect them totally. The issue is not their knowledge or experience, but rather the medicinal direction.
The majority of kids’ issues can be treated by moxibustion or a combination of moxibustion. It’s comfortable and relatively safe. Here I want to list several commonly seen issues. You can send your questions to my email ClickTCM@gmail.com. I will try to address each problem through videos.
Warts
Skin issues are very commonly seen in children. When we talk about skin issues, they are not necessarily just the skin issues. Most of the skin issues are really caused by internal organ or meridian problems.
A wart is a small bump that can appear anywhere on the body. It can look like a solid blister or a small cauliflower. Most warts are seen on the feet, especially of young kids.
In the Western medicine world, it is said that this is caused by HPV virus, and the treatment method often involves freezing and even surgery.
I want to assure you that moxibustion can treat warts very easily, safely and comfortably.
- My second son got warts on his feet when he was about 9 to 10 years old. And whenever he walked, he would feel the pain. So, I just kneaded some loose moxa into a cone shape and put it on top of the warts area (I put a very thin layer of Vaseline oil on the skin so the moxa cone could easily stick). I put one moxa cone on each wart area and then lit the top of the small cone. When it had almost burnt out, I took it out and threw it into the water bowl beside it for safety. Then I lit another moxa cone. It took about 7–8 seconds for each cone to be burnt. (Depending on the cone size, the burning time could be a bit different). I repeated this 9 times for one treatment. I only did two treatments for him. When the moxa cone was burning, he told me where he felt the warmth and where the qi was traveling. Around the 9th time, the warm qi went from the bottom of his feet and along the meridian inside the leg, to his knee area. Then it stopped. During the whole process, he felt very comfortable.
This is telling us there’s water or moisture along the meridian. If you just use a surgery or freezing method, you are only dealing with the very local area. The real cause, which is the moisture inside your meridian, is still there. That’s why a lot of kids will have the warts back again even after they had surgery or treatment.
- I did only two treatments; he didn’t have any pain anymore, but it took 4–5 days for the skin of the wart area to totally dry and fall off. And he could walk or jog and play basketball as usual after 2 days of moxibustion.
Another similar story of my friend’s daughter:
- She had a similar issue. She had already visited the pediatrician several times and still needed to go there to do the freezing. So, I suggested to do moxibustion for her. This time, I used the moxibustion sticker. Similarly, she told me exactly how the warm qi from moxibustion was traveling up along the inner side of her leg. I only did it once for her and asked her mom to continue at home. She later told me her warts were totally gone.
Your pediatrician might tell you that it’s due to a virus. But if the virus can survive, it means the environment is suitable for it to grow. By doing the moxibustion, it will steam up the moisture into qi, to be utilized normally by your body. The virus will automatically die out when there is no damp environment for it to grow. So, it will be cured totally. And it’s very easy and comfortable. I have recorded a YouTube video before on how to do it. You can check my YouTube channel called Holistic Queen.
