Paronychia usually occurs on the toes. The anterior horn of the toenail penetrates the soft tissues of the skin on both sides, causing a swelling and painful sensation and even toe inflammation.
Moxibustion is very effective for paronychia. And it’s very simple and comfortable to treat.
Here is a simple story:
My nephew’s big toe was very red and swollen a few days ago. It hurt too much to walk in shoes. The hospital wanted to give him an injection to stop the pain. I didn’t agree. When we got home, I just used a regular moxa stick to do moxibustion toward his big toe.
I used 2 moxa sticks in a row. It was close to noon. And I used another 2 moxa sticks in the evening again. I then mixed the moxibustion ashes with warm boiled water and wrapped his big toe. It didn’t hurt anymore the next day. He could wear shoes to work now. I continued to use moxa sticks every night for 2 more days, and the pain was then totally gone.
These kinds of simple issues can easily be treated by using moxibustion.
