How to Distinguish the Quality of Moxa Products

First of all, it must be made of pure moxa herb leaves. If the moxa stick is made of new moxa leaves (under 1 year of storage), it normally smells stronger, and you feel hotter or a burning sensation when you use it. It’s still okay to use. But for better results, we normally recommend to our clients to use those made of aged moxa leaves that have been stored for 3–5 years. This is because the moxa sticks made of moxa leaves that have been aged 3-5 years, have very good temperament. They don’t smell very strong but have a rather light aroma. And when they are burned, it gives you mild and gentle warmness and has deeper qi penetration into your body.  So, it has better results.

Moxa ratio is another factor to consider. When we say moxa stick of 10:1, it means 10 pounds of moxa leaves are used to make 1 pound of moxa sticks.  When we say moxa stick of 30:1, it means that 30 pounds of moxa leaves are used to make 1 pound of moxa sticks. Normally, the moxa stick of a higher ratio has better penetration. Apparently, the moxa stick that has a higher ratio costs more due to the quantity of moxa leaves consumed. Well, there might be some exaggeration by some sellers. But at least I can guarantee that the moxa products sold at my partnering store are of true concentration. You can check www. GoodHerbalStore.com for different types of moxa sticks.
