Such problems can happen to people of any age, even young children. But it mostly happens to elderly or aging people.
In Chinese medicine theory, the kidney, especially kidney yang qi, governs urine and bowel movement. When people have urinary issues, in most cases, it indicates that kidney yang qi or life gate fire is a bit low.
Moxibustion can really help a lot.
For simplicity, you just need to lie on your belly and put one or two 3-hole moxa boxes on the lower back, to cover the acupuncture points such as (BL23) Shen Shu or (GV4) Mingmen, and Ba Liao (8 points at the lower part of the sacrum). Do 1 hour of moxibustion, and then turn over and put a 3-hole moxa box on your belly, from (CV8) Shen Que to (CV3) ZhongJi. You will for sure get better.
I had a lady client. She came to see me because she tried to find a clinic that could do moxibustion. She heard a lot of good comments in China about moxibustion, and she wanted to try it.
She suffered from frequent urination and incontinence. She felt the urge easily, but whenever she went to the bathroom, she only peed a little, and she felt there was still some inside but it could not be peed out. She had this problem for more than a year. Of course, through an initial holistic diagnosis and questionnaire, she also had some other problems.
Basically, the diagnosis was that her spleen deficiency was causing water retention and kidney yang deficiency. So, I did moxibustion for her.
As the moxibustion normally took close to 2 hours back and front, she said she normally needed to go to the washroom within 1 hour. After I did 1 hour on her back during her first visit, she said she felt very good, and she didn’t feel the urge, but she thought she’d better go to washroom before I did the front moxibustion. After she came back, she told me her urine amount was much more this time. It was the first time that she felt the empty kind of feeling after going pee.
For the following treatment sessions, she didn’t need to go to the washroom during the treatment anymore. To save her money, I taught her how to do the moxibustion at home.
Moxibustion is not like the needle. Normally, people have to come to the clinic to do acupuncture with a needle. But moxibustion can be easily performed at home. It is a bigger challenge for a clinic to do it, but more convenient for you to do at home. I taught my clients to do it during summertime in the garage, or even on a balcony, as long as they are not exposed directly to wind or dampness.
There are other types of urinary issues, even uremia. I want to tell you that 90% of those problems can be improved or totally cured through moxibustion.
Here I want to share a story from the Chinese moxibustion network:
“My husband has chronic nephritis with proteinuria + 3 occult blood + 1 and 24-hour protein loss of 5.07. I have been doing moxibustion on him for two months. The occult blood disappeared after only a week, and the routine proteinuria in the urine was still +3, and the protein loss in 24 hours was 4.38. Up to now, the occult blood has been checked four times and confirmed gone. Now the 24-hour protein loss has been reduced to 1.5. Triglycerides and blood lipids and low-density cholesterol were all high before, but they are now normal. The acupuncture points I used for moxibustion include Da Zhui, Zhongwan, Shen Que, Guanyuan, Zusanli, San Yin Jiao, Yongquan, Shen Shu and Mingmen. Once every morning and every night, I did moxibustion for more than an hour. Moxibustion has improved my spouse’s four-year condition. I am very happy! I still continue to do it for him.”
