Nowadays, kids are so obsessed with electronic devices. They tend to easily have eye issues. The most commonly seen eye problem is nearsightedness. Nearsightedness is not hard to treat. The issue is the habit change. I normally advise the parents to do a gentle eye massage exercise, which you can find on my website, Holistic Queen.com.
And moxibustion will help as well. Before you do moxibustion, it’s better to do some gentle tapping or massage around the eye area. It could help promote easy qi and blood flow.
The reason for nearsightedness is the long-term muscle strain or tension around the eyeballs, which causes the distance focus to be distorted. So, the whole purpose is to reduce the muscle tightness. Moxibustion is a very good way to improve this situation.
You can simply just do the circling moxibustion near the Yintang, which is between the two eyebrows, and Tai Yang, which is around the outside corner of your eyes. If your child accepts moxibustion, you can help them correct the nearsightedness. You can do this once a day. Their eyes will be more relaxed. Once there is not tiredness around the eyes, and qi and blood flow go smoothly, the eyesight will improve.
After the treatment, the eyes will be more relaxed and will be getting better. But if you don’t pay attention,, it will go back again. Most parents find it challenging because the habit of using the eyes is hard to change. Kids don’t stop heavily using computers or other electronic devices. Eventually, some parents have to give up. Even just the very simple tapping around the eyes, the kids will not do. But if they are willing to cooperate, moxibustion is a good way.
