Moxibustion is very effective to treat diarrhea. When a person has diarrhea, we say the clear chi of the spleen is not ascending. The reason is either due to coldness or too much dampness accumulating around the lower part of the body.
You can simply do moxibustion around the belly button, which is Shen Que (CV 8), and Qi Hai (CV6) and Guanyuan (CV4). Very soon, you will find that the diarrhea stops. For better results, you should also do the moxibustion on points like SP6, SP8 and SP9. These acupoints can effectively help remove the dampness in the lower part of your body, and help move clear spleen qi up to nourish the other parts of your body.
Most of my clients got much better after even just one moxibustion treatment. And it is very simple to operate at home. You can use just the moxa roll/stick; light it and just hold it around your belly button (CV8) area, and a little bit lower at CV6 and CV4. Where you feel very comfortable, you just focus on that point area. And during the moxibustion, you will feel very comfortable and better.
I personally suffered from serious diarrhea before I learned about Chinese medicine. My digestive system is so sensitive, and I joked with my family that I easily know which restaurant is good, because I can immediately feel the uncomfortableness after I eat the food. I easily get diarrhea whenever having a bit of cold or greasy food items, such as milk, or when I get stressed. This is somehow an inherited factor. I have the privilege now to use moxibustion as well as herbal tea for myself, and I don’t easily have this issue now. Occasionally, due to food problems or catching cold, I will feel it, and I will immediately do a bit of moxibustion or take my herbal tea. I normally like to lie down on the table and put a 3-hole moxa box on my belly. I can tell you from my personal experience that moxibustion is the best; it’s very comfortable, and I feel the difference right away.
Whether I am telling the truth or not, you can simply try and prove it. If you cannot get good moxibustion sticks locally, you can buy them from my partnering online Chinese herbal store: GoodHerbalStore.com.
By the way, in addition to moxibustion, I also specialize in holistic herbal tea. My third book will be about holistic herbal tea. Please stay tuned.
We also have our branded tea, called Tai Chi Yin Yang Balancing tea. It can help reduce stress and promote overall body qi back to its normal status. It is good for almost everyone, and it tastes good. I hope you can try it.
